The unique Haitihouse.org FlatPackHome™, with its 30-year rating, is a quick solution to producing and shipping multiple housing units that are both durable and easy to install at the destination site. The FlatPackHome™ offers GREATER protection than tents, canvas, frame or other lesser structures. Our product has been engineer certified to withstand 130 mph winds (a Category 3 Hurricane has up to 130 mph winds) and is rated Seismic D, when properly anchored. NO OTHER shelter offers our safety, and longevity.

We offer the FlatPackHome™ in bulk orders, prepped and ready for installation. This house is 7'6" wide by 18'6" long (39' long available) and features standard windows for added circulation.

These flat pack home units are compact (16 smaller size to a cargo container unit) and light yet long-lasting and able to withstand tropical sun, heat, wind and rain. By incorporating many of the lessons our company learned producing disaster housing, we can apply that knowledge and create a truly quality product that not only meets the needs of the residents, but also solves many of the issues other builders do not address.

DURABLE & PERMANENT:

Our trademark FlatPackHome™ is built with galvanized steel, and our roof panels are a coated metal composite. The powder coated aluminum exterior and seam seals on every edge help it withstand rain, wind, insects and normal wear that would destroy the wooden panels of cheaper imitations. FlatPackHome™ is built to last and is rated for 30-years. Other temporary shelters like tents, and canvas structures just won't be able to house populations in tropical storms and more severe weather. They would need to replaced before the task of housing refugees is even complete.

HEALTHIER:

Disease can be greatly avoided by use of our units. The floor is a pressure treated lumber suspended on a steel frame placing residents above pooling water, keeping them and their belongings dry. The windows and doors have quality seals, and screening, aiding to keep out rain and moisture which causes mold, fungi and bacterial growth.

EASY INSTALL - NO POWER TOOLS NEEDED:

Stronger than typical materials used, our FlatPackHome™ also features quick installation. A small group can lift the house into position. Then several persons can unfold and assemble the entire unit with a wrench in under a half hour per house. The base house can be erected in 15 minutes. No special tools or machinery is required. This is particularly important in disaster zones where time is of the essence and power supplies are non-existent.

RECYCLABLE:

The entire FlatPackHome™ can be disassembled for future construction projects and all of its parts recycled. All doors and windows can be remounted. All panels and framing can be used to construct other buildings.

Additionally, Harbor Homes has a proven series of field tested mobile disaster housing like our travel trailer, built to house an average family yet still highly mobile. Our other larger models include a 2-bedroom or 3-bedroom standard mobile home and we even have larger models with more bedrooms.
The travel trailer is highly adaptable and can be towed by a pickup truck to provide a mobile medical clinic if desired.
